Inspired by the Le Mans-winning D-Type, the Jaguar XKE was actually the direct descendent of a lightweight racer that competed in the 1960 24 Hours. Simply referred to as the E-Type, it caused a sensation in 1961 with its balanced, flowing lines and aggressive performance. It has been described as the most beautiful car ever made because of the visual emphasis of the exaggerated hood and sweeping curves. It was only the third car to enter the New York Museum of Modern Art’s design collection.
Our iconic British sports car, the E-Type SI 4.2L, is in the desirable color combination of red exterior/tan interior, and includes fully synchronized gearboxes, independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes all around, and twin-cam inline-6 engine.
